Seriously, if you half the techie you think you are, you shouldn't have even posted this. Anyone who is trying to connect to an ad-hoc network knows to update their drivers. Seriously, take this complaint to your boss because there are so many people with this same issue.
Or, even better, reply to this with the update number that I can run on windows 8. Less software is better. Propose a real fix.
