Convert hatch to polyline autocad 2010

Unfortunately the next tool in my workflow doesn't understand 'solids' only polylines and a few other basic shapes like circles, lines, etc. Is there some way to convert the object in AutoCAD? I tried the 'boundary' command but when it asks to 'Pick Points' and I click inside the solid, it always gives the error 'Valid hatch boundary not found'. I think you will want Explode maybe a couple of times - do a List after each explode and Flatten.

In this case, we just have to make their elevations equal. If you are using AutoCAD or older, you could have problems with the objects. Turn off or freeze any hatch layers with hatch patterns so they are not included in the selection.
Make sure the hatch layer is turned on and not frozen.
