Thanks so much for the quick reply. I understand how a fresh install is always the best option for a reliable system but for me, I have several programs that for one reason or another I have lost the install disks that I would not be able to re-install again.

These are legitamate programs, I just no longer have access to the original disks so a fresh install is a last resort at this point. Question, if I clone the C: drive with my original Windows installation to an external hard drive and then do a fresh install that should re-build the boot configuration file. I can then clone the Windows partition from the external hard drive back onto the laptop thus having my old Windows back with a new boot configuration file. Would that work?

Or is Windows to smart to prevent you from doing something like that? Keep in mind I upgraded from Windows 8 on this PC so I do not have a license key to install the new Windows 10 and will not have the license key when I clone my original Windows 10 back onto the laptop from the external hard drive, but I would think it would automatically recognize it anyway.

Something as simple as. But make sure and recheck your Bios to see if it becomes primary. If it works, it should boot normally. I ran diagnositcs provided by the manufacturer on the hard drive and other hardware and everything checked out okay.

I looked in the Windows directory and found a handful of files in the minidump folder but they all had a zero byte size with no content so they are basically useless except for their creation dates. I did find a Memory. I am truly amazed at the amount of professional help you guys have been providing.
