Which, incidentally, stopped when I stopped taking the aciphex. I still have the GERD to this day - some days its worse than others. I connect a straight line between the taking of aciphex and the development of GERD. Is this a reasonable conclusion? Mtgoat, I really hesitate to say this but reglan is not a replacement for any PPI.
It's a pro-motility drug and it needs to be taken in a specific manner and it cannot be continued for long periods of time. As the other poster mentioned, reglan can have some very, very serious drawbacks.
What is the best drug for these conditions? GI doc said Aciphex , another GI doc said omeprazole and that they all do the same thing. Patient says Dexilant is working best for him. Which should he take? Personally, I like Nexium. If we purchase a good car it will go to Germany. Since then I am taking Acid suppressants such as Nexium and Aciphex as prescribed by my doctor. All the tests came normal except they found H-Pilory infection and I took antibiotics and subsequent Stool test for H-Pilory showed negative.

I have gone back on the Aciphex but am terrified after reading on websites that I did the wrong thing. On antibiotiic, H pylori ruled out. History of GERD, hiatal hernia. Control symptoms with diet, OTC Gaviscon. So this would bring the cost down a bit. In addition, Galderma company that makes Differin has a patient assistance program that provides free medications to qualifying patients.

I must go thru a step program, starting with Nexium, which my Doctor dosed at 40 mg instead of 20 mg, saying Nexium didn't come in 20 and the 40mg of Nexium is comparable to the 20 mg Aciphex. Questions: 1 Is the above true? Since all the new studues came out about it being so bad long term, I decided to try and get off it. I'm down from 20mg a day to 20mg every days.
